Ultrasonic Courses
ASNT CP-105
Ultrasonic Testing Course Level I – 40 Hours
Description
Ultrasonic Testing (UT) uses high frequency sound energy to conduct examinations and make measurements. Ultrasonic inspection can be used for flaw detection/evaluation, dimensional measurements, material characterization, and much more. Although there are a number of technologies employing ultrasound, the simplest explanation of what happens in this method is that sound energy is introduced via a transducer and propagates through the materials in the form of waves. When official website there is a discontinuity (such as a crack) in the wave path, part of the energy will be reflected back from the flaw surface.

Ultrasonic Shearwave Characterization & Sizing Course – 40 Hours
Description
This course is designated for Level II UT technicians that need advanced skills to pass standardized testing. This course is 90% hands-on and specific to success with angle beam examinations of weldments such as the API QUTE or a basic client examination of a fine-grained weldment such as the Shell QUTE or Chevron Shearwave exam on carbon steel materials. We will provide samples that mimic these testing environments. Our SMEs have successfully completed these Weld Quality exams and their students have a 100% pass rate.
