ASNT ISQ UTT Oil & Gas Start date 04-17-2026 End date 04-19-2026 Course length 1x Lesson Class duration 1440 Minutes Overview Book a Class ISQ UTT Oil & Gas Application Hands-on practical examinations are conducted using the patented Persistence software application to evaluate the candidate’s competency in performing Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT) in accordance with the ASNT ISQ UTT Thickness and Corrosion Scanning examination requirements. Candidates are required to examine ten (10) test specimens representing applicable oil and gas product forms. Each specimen contains actual or artificially induced discontinuities designed to simulate in-service damage mechanisms commonly encountered in field conditions. Areas of interest are established to assess the candidate’s ability to properly apply UTT scanning techniques, interpret A-scan responses, and accurately characterize discontinuities. Candidates must detect, interpret, evaluate, and document examination results in accordance with ISQ classification requirements, including Mid-Wall Flaws (M), Wall Loss (W), or No Applicable Damage Detected (N). Emphasis is placed on proper probe manipulation, coupling control, coverage verification, thickness measurement accuracy, and documentation integrity. The use of controlled practice specimens in conjunction with the Persistence platform provides a technically equivalent and exam-representative simulation of the ASNT ISQ UTT practical examination environment.
