ISQ PAUT Oil & Gas Application

This advanced ultrasonic testing (UT) training course is designed for Level II and Level III UT personnel, as well as NDE management and supervisory staff. The course serves as a structured preparation program for candidates intending to sit for the ASNT ISQ PAUT examination, API QUTE, and other comparable performance demonstration examinations that evaluate flaw detection, characterization, and sizing competency.

The course presents advanced UT examination methodologies focused on the detection, characterization, and dimensional sizing of discontinuities associated with welding processes and in-service damage mechanisms. Instruction and practical application address phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) techniques applicable to piping, plate, and pressure vessel components.

Training methodologies are applicable across multiple industries, including petroleum, chemical, fossil power, nuclear, and aerospace, as well as any industry requiring ultrasonic examination of metallic product forms.

The course includes multiple full-scale preparation examinations utilizing qualification samples manufactured by the same firms that produce examination specimens for the ASNT ISQ UTSW and PAUT programs. These examinations are designed to replicate performance demonstration conditions and ensure candidate readiness for formal qualification testing.
